Daryl and
Mike are trying to defend the Church from fellow club members in The
Paladins. But it’s not going well. The other members are convinced that the Pope is
political. In desperation, Mike and Daryl reach out to Iimi. But will she be willing to
participate in a religious discussion during school hours? And if she is, will
she be able to show the others that there are… Many Factions, But Only
One Side to Be On
Pre-Comic
Notes:
When this comic was uploaded, Pope Francis was in serious condition. Please remember
to keep him in your prayers.
I don’t doubt some readers will assume this is a “political” comic. However, the point is to contrast the accusations against the actual words in his letter and discuss the Church’s binding teachings.
Post-Comic Notes:
I began this comic before Pope Francis entered the hospital, so this issue does not mention his illness.
When I began this comic in 2020, I envisioned Chela’s mother as being put in a facility for unescorted minors during the Obama administration. But given that I didn't start to age the characters until late 2023, Chela would have been too young for that. The point remains that our broken system, at odds with the Church, cuts across party lines.

The Pope’s color scheme on page 17 was from AI and isn’t symbolic. I didn’t catch it until the page was finalized.
