The basic principles
were laid down before the results came in (truth doesn't depend on history). I merely had “N%” standing for the
winning candidate and “M%” for the losing candidate. “X%” stood for the winning
candidate’s condemned position, and “Y%” for the losing candidate’s condemned
position. Once the final results were announced, it became a matter of going
from general to specific.
