When Najiyah and Lilavati protest that the Catholic view is intolerant because it does not accept their beliefs as equally valid, Iimi must demonstrate that the club maxim of "follow the truth where it leads" also applies to what religious beliefs to accept and reject. To refuse to do that is to make one… Vincible!
Post-Comic Notes:
Remember, Iimi is not waffling on her
belief that Catholic Christianity is true. She's appealing to people who either
never accepted Christianity as true (Lilavati and Najiyah) or once
believed it and then rejected it (Mike).
For those unfamiliar with the reference, the cover is a parody of the Comic series "Invincible." The cover (and panel frame wallpaper) is gore-splattered as a parody of the graphically violent nature of the comic (and animated series). As soon as I knew the title and the topic, the "Invincible" themed cover practically made itself, and using the "Psycho" pages as a background panel wallpaper was a natural addition.
