The proponents of abortion use “choice” as the mantra to paper over all the injustices and abuses in the system. But a system that sees abortion as a “right” often ignores the rights of those who don’t want to participate in that “choice.” The “Pro-Choice politicians are really more pro-life” Catholics also ignore or downplay the evils done to women.
Yes, what Paula went through is technically illegal. In theory, one can’t force a minor to have an abortion. But there seems to be precious few protections for the minor who is pressured (duress) into going along with it and is unable to come forward. Consider, for example, how the State of California prosecuted those exposing the behavior at one such clinic. Consider how clinics don’t get involved in reporting incidents with minors. Consider how they take part in assisting human traffickers.
